Liberian international footballer Allen Njie has issued a public apology after facing backlash for comments that were perceived as disparaging toward local players.
In a heartfelt statement, Njie expressed regret for his earlier remarks, particularly those aimed at current players of the National team. He wrote:
“My sincere apologies to everyone for my comments made earlier, especially to my fellow players. We’ve represented Liberia with our sweat, tears, and blood, and as a former captain, I never intended to disrespect the group I’ve worked with for years. The National Team of Liberia is our top priority, and it has always been an honor to work alongside everyone at all levels.”
Njie concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serving Liberia, both on and off the field, and stressed his dedication to the greater good of the country.
