Liberia’s chess sensation, Abigail Karyah, is making waves yet again! With a recent victory over Brazil at the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Karyah continues to solidify her position as one of West Africa’s best female chess players. Ranked as the 2nd Best Female Chess Player in West Africa, Karyah is proving that her talent is unmatched on the global stage.
Her next challenge? A face-off against Panama in Hungary, where all eyes will be on her as she strives for another win. With her focus and dedication, we have no doubt she will continue to excel and bring glory to Liberia.
Currently, Karyah leads the world’s top individual performers list in the women’s section of the Olympiad, a tremendous achievement not only for her but for the entire nation. Alongside her, another Liberian female player is shining bright, as Liberia now has two of the top 25 performers in the competition.
After Round 5, data reveals that Liberia is the only African country to have made it into the prestigious TOP 20. This feat highlights the incredible skill and hard work of both Champion Georgina Sackie and former Champion Abigail Karyah, who continue to elevate the sport in Liberia.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to TEAM LIBERIA! You are making the nation proud on the world stage. Best of luck, Abigail, as you prepare for your match against Panama – we are all cheering you on!
