“Oral and Anal Sex is a crime“ – Gay rights advocate Varney A. Teah alias Strong Gbana Pekin reminds Liberians.

Liberian gay right advocate based in America, Varney A Teah alias Strong Gbana Pekin is the last person many LGBTs were waiting upon today to speak out on the case of Michael Kanneh alias Liberia Bobrisky “Who Dehh”, and he delivered.

The LGBT advocate lashed out at Liberians who are mocking Michael and still doing oral and anal sex with their partner. He mentioned section 14.74 of the Penal Law of Liberia that clarifies that man and woman having oral and anal sex is a crime against the state.

And yes we did some digging and here is what the Penal Law Section 14.74 says but it is quite different from what his post meant.

“14.74. Voluntary sodomy.
A person who engages in deviate sexual intercourse under circumstance not stated in Section 14.72 or 14.73 has committed a first degree misdemeanor.”

But then going downwards to Section 14.79 we found something that matches his post and it states.

“14.79. Definitions relating to sections on sexual crimes against the person. In this subchapter:
(a) “sexual intercourse” occurs upon penetration, however slight; ejaculation is not required; (But, see Section 14.70.)

(b) “deviate sexual intercourse” means sexual contact between human beings who are not husband and wife or living together as man and wife though not legally married, consisting of contact between the penis and the anus, the mouth and the penis, or the mouth and vulva;
(c) “sexual contact” means any touching of the sexual or other intimate parts of a person for the purpose of arousing or gratifying sexual desire.”

• Offense. A male who has sexual intercourse with a female not his wife or any person who engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with another has committed an offense if the other person is under sixteen years and the actor is at least five years older than the other person.
• Grading. The offense is a third degree felony, except when the actor is less than twenty-one years old, in which event it is a first degree misdemeanor.
