After a four-year long hiatus, the Miss Liberia pageant seems set to finally take place. The government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT) Sent out a call for proposals and a Liberian entertainment company known as XL-Entertainment (xL-Ent), won the bid to become the host of the Miss Liberia 2021-2022 edition.
The last time the pageant was held was in December of 2016 exactly four years ago when Miss Wokie Dolo won the title and has remained in the position for four years now. This was as a result of of several challenges that was faced by MICAT who has now given the green light for the holding of the 25th edition of the Miss Liberia beauty pageant in Liberia.

XL-Ent the company that was certificated and awarded to host the Miss Liberia franchise is a company run and owned by Liberians. And the team intends to commence full auditions and casting for representative queens of the various counties by June of 2021.
Mr. Zubin Cooper the Chief Executive of XL-Entertainment is that the Miss Liberia pageant auditions will take place across the country; where those aspiring to contest in the pageant will have the opportunity to make their case to represent their counties of origin.
Meanwhile a complete timetable and listing of dates and venues will be made available at a soon to be held press event. XL-Ent is pleased to have been selected and commits to delivering an innovative, classic, fair and straightforward process and events that will usher in the next Miss Liberia in partnership with the MICAT and various institutional and commercial partners. Mr. Cooper told this paper that forms will be available at various locations throughout the country as well as online.

The Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant seeks to promote the beauty and diversity of Liberia’s Cultural Heritage. The program also aims to promote national unity and is the platform for the empowerment of young Liberian women by affording them the opportunity to showcase their talents, charisma, beauty and academic excellence.
Among the requirements to participate in Miss Liberia, participants must be a Liberian Citizen; Resident of Liberia six months prior to county audition; Age limit – 18-27 years old; single and never married; no child/children; must not have any criminal record; must be eloquent in spoken and written English, and have basic knowledge of the county you wish to represent; have humility and desire to advance the life of others; must be a tertiary student or graduate (University, College and Technical) in possession of a valid high school diploma/WAEC/WASSCE Certificate.
Contestants must meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss Liberia Organization. Top winners will be expected to represent Liberia at international and regional pageants, Miss World, Miss Africa, Miss Universe.
Miss Liberia pageant was held for first time in 1962. The pageant is sponsored by Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT). Traditionally, the winner will represent Liberia at Miss World pageant. In 1974 – 1977 the winner represented the country at Miss Universe pageant.
