Football is one of the popular sports around the world. The game is not an individual one but the fact is, it is a team game.
The sports have millions of followers around the globe and have directly and indirectly provide jobs for millions of people who might be jobless. In this article, we take a look at the only professional footballer who is head of a nation in Africa.

Meet Gerorge Manneh Oppong Waah,
a Liberian politician and a former player who is currently serving as the 25th president of Liberia in office since 2018. Before he was elected as president, Weah served as the senator for Montserrado.

During his 18th prolific football career, he played as a stricker. He begin his football career in his home country and spent over 14 years playing for clubs in France, Italy and England. He was brought to europe by Arsène Wenger after signing him for Monaco in the year 1988.
He made a move to France side Paris Saint Germain in 1992 and won the Ligue1 in 1994. At the same year in the champions league, he was the top scorer in the UEFA champions league.

He signed for AC Milan in the year 1995 and won the Serie A twice in his 4 sucessful season with the Italian side. Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, George Waah also played for Chelsea, Man City(won FA cup) before returning to France to play for Marseille in 2001.

The Liberian president retired from football in 2003.
