Report reaching us states that four of ArcelorMittal’s staffs including ten passengers are currently undergoing critical treatment after two trains belonging to the Company collided in Nimba county.
According to sources the trains came from opposite directions and collided due to the lack of communication.
The incident occurred early Friday morning by 2:00 AM.
The incident occurred around kilometers 187 in Nimba County, with 14-persons on board which includes four employees who are operators and ten (10) passangers.
The employees are: Michael Toublon operator, Cliff Rogers Operator, George Clarke Train Assistant , and Peter Johnson Train Assistant.
Micheal Toublon is under serious condition as it is reported that his two legs got broken.
The injured employees and passengers were rushed to a nearby clinic for medical attention.
The both trains were dispatched to meet at Tropoi station in Nimba County-but the empty train driver didn\’t follow the instructions from the Rail Traffic Controller(RTC) and bunched into the loaded train coming from Tokadeh mines.
The train which was in route from Buchanan to Tokadeh mines got badly damage.
ArcelorMittal’s communication department is yet to speak to the saturation.
