As announced by the officials of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) Safe drinking water will be pumped throughout several communities in Monrovia beginning Friday, February 5,2021.

The managing director of LWSC, Duanna Kamara said, the institution has repaired the sixteen pipeline which will start operating tomorrow while work is ongoing on 36 other water pipelines. Attributing the shortage of water supply to technical problems and outdated materials.

Speaking at The Ministry Of Information Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) Regular press briefing Thursday in Monrovia, Mr. Kamara said, most of the pipes through which the waters passes are all faulty and were built before 1980; and they are over due to be changed. He also added that the government and partners are putting in measures to change the old pipelines to distribute quality and clean drinking water to the citizens.

Complaining, Duanna Kamara said that some citizens are in the constant hobbit of dumping dirt in the sewerage line, making emphasis on the Waterside community area. He also complained that there are some evil citizens who are removing the cover for the sewerage and sell them to scrap dealers. Therefore appealing to all involved in the act to stop immediately.

The LWSC boss also disclosed that two of his staffs were dismissed due to strike of their salaries, contrary to rumors that they were dismissed due to misconduct towards him.
