The PRO of The Musicians Union of Liberia, J-Mark Markai Lashes out at Tunesliberia and other local Entertainment Awarding Platforms to attached monetary values to their awards.
Emanating Via His Facebook Page He Said:
“Our critical stand on Awarding platforms, adding value to Awards will not be jeopardized by Tunes Liberia Music Awards.
All awarding platforms based in Liberia must attach value to their platforms. We\’ll not accept Tunes Liberia Music Awards organizers to get rich at the detriment of Liberian artists, DJs, producers, comedians, etc., in the name of promotions, and dashed our interest.
With all the sponsorship you have gotten from Orange Liberia , huge gate intakes from past events and other entities contributions over years and now, we\’ll not accept Free Awards this year. We will stand firm until values are added to your platform.
As the Public Relations Officer Of the Musicians Union Of Liberia – MULIB, am encouraging all serious minded Musicians, DJs and producers that were nominated for Tunes Liberia Music Awards to stop sharing links of voting until they (TLMA) reach the union\’s office and the Department of Culture at the Ministry Of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism to commit themselves in respect to adding value to their platform like MTN Liberia Music Awards. It\’s time that we (Musicians, DJs, Producers, etc.) value ourselves before anyone else does.
Without us (Musicians, DJs, Producers.) there will be nothing like Awards platform. My respect goes to few Entertainers ( AuntyMabel Son Tosh – CIC, Faith Vonic, Eric Geso, Baroe, Stunna Official Base, Bucky Raw, JB Soulfresh, Korte Kobazzie Bazzie, Newton Kizzy W Woyeh, etc.) that understands our advocacy and hasn\’t posted voting links.
To you\’ll that has a fixed mindset of just winning ordinary iron with no benefits, it\’s time that you level up. Look beyond the ordinary iron. We should not crawl on bread and butter issues.
The Musicians Union Of Liberia will officially make her official statement in the coming days, as it relates to Tunes Liberia Music Awards.
Keep posted!” – DJ J-Mark
